📱 RSVP for Guests Without an Email (Phone-Only RSVPs)

Learn how to handle RSVPs for guests who only have a phone number on file, and how group/household RSVPs work with phone-only identification.

🔗 Simple RSVP (Same Questions for Everyone)

If all your guests are being asked the exact same set of questions and are RSVPing individually (not as a group), you can simply share the RSVP link directly — for example, via WhatsApp.

When a guest opens the link, they'll be asked for their phone number and email. Once they complete the RSVP, their responses automatically backfill into your guest list.

📌 Note: This simple approach only works if every guest is answering the same questions and RSVPing for themselves individually — not as part of a household.

👨‍👩‍👧 Group/Household RSVPs

If you'd like guests to RSVP as a group (a household), TTO needs to be able to identify at least one member of that group when they log in.

Example: Kat is grouped in a household with Test 1 and Test 2.

To identify Kat and connect her to her household, TTO checks for a match using:

  1. Phone number (checked first)

  2. Email address (checked second)

Once a match is found, the system recognizes which household the guest belongs to and allows them to RSVP for their entire household — not just themselves.

💡 Tip: It's ideal to have both phone number and email on file for each guest, just in case one of them doesn't match what the guest enters when RSVPing.

☎️ RSVPing with Phone Number Only

If a guest doesn't have an email on file, that's not a problem - a phone number alone is enough for TTO to identify them and their household, as long as it matches what's in your guest list.

⚠️ Important: If the phone number a guest enters during RSVP does not match your guest list, TTO won't be able to identify them or their household. In that case, the guest will only be able to RSVP for themselves — not their full group.

When RSVPing with phone only:

  • The guest will still be asked to provide an email during the RSVP flow, so you can collect it for future communications

  • Email is a mandatory field in this flow, but a guest who doesn't want to share a real email can enter a placeholder/dummy one

  • If other household members already have a last name on file, the guest can proceed without needing to add extra contact info for them

❌ When a Guest Can't Be Identified

If a guest has neither a matching phone number nor email on file, TTO can't identify them as part of a household. They'll simply be shown the default RSVP questions and can only RSVP for themselves.
