📊 Understanding Your Seating Summary Before assigning seats, you can get a quick overview of your seating status from the Guests tab in the Floorplan:
Guests — Total number of guests on your list
Seats — Total number of seats available across all tables
Unseated guests — Guests who haven't been assigned a seat yet
Seated guests — Guests who have already been assigned a seat
Available seats — Remaining unoccupied seats
This summary helps you stay on top of your seating plan at a glance.
🔍 Use the Persistent Include and Sort Controls The active guest controls stay visible at the top of the Guests / Allocate Seats panel, so you can always see how the list is filtered and sorted.
Include — choose All guests, an attendance response, a guest tag such as A list, B list, or Family, or any custom tag from your guest list.
Sort — organise the matching guests alphabetically to find a name quickly.
📌 Note: By default, Include is set to Attendance (wedding), so you'll see your confirmed attendees first when you open the panel. You can switch to All guests, a specific tag, or another attendance response at any time.
The guest list updates immediately when you change either control. Your active selection remains visible while you assign guests, making it easier to avoid seating the wrong group.
💺 Allocating Seats Once your filter is applied, you can assign guests to seats directly from the panel:
Each table is listed with individual seat numbers (e.g. 1.1, 1.2, 1.3)
Click the dropdown next to an Unassigned seat to open the list of guests based on your filter selection
Guests from the same household will appear grouped together under the primary guest's name
Once assigned, the guest's name will appear on the floorplan visual in real time and will show Seat 1.1 ✅ next to their name confirming the assignment
To remove a guest from a seat, click the X next to their name
ℹ️ Key note: All tags created in your guestlist will automatically appear in the Include dropdown making it easy to filter and seat specific groups of guests quickly and efficiently. Use All guests when building your plan from scratch, and switch to a specific tag or Attendance (wedding) when finalising your seating to stay focused and accurate
🆕 Searching & Seat Reassignment Directly from the Dropdown
When assigning a guest to a seat, the guest dropdown now includes:
🔍 Search bar — Type a guest's name to jump straight to them instead of scrolling the filtered list.
Already-seated indicator — If a guest is already assigned elsewhere, their current seat number appears next to their name (e.g. Emma Johnson (1.8)), so you can spot double-bookings before confirming a new assignment.
Include/Sort filter, inline — The same Include (e.g. Family, All guests, tags) and Sort controls from the Guests panel now appear directly within the seat dropdown, so you can narrow the list without leaving the seat assignment flow.
Quick unassign — A dedicated icon next to the assigned guest's name lets you remove them from that seat directly, without opening the full guest panel.
