🔒 Closing RSVPs After Deadline

Stop guests from updating their RSVP after your deadline by enabling the RSVP lock setting.

🚫 How to Turn Off a Specific Question

If you'd like to stop showing a particular question to your guests without disabling the entire RSVP, you can turn it off individually.

To do this:

  • Go to your RSVP page from the left sidebar

  • Find the question you'd like to disable (e.g. "Will you attend our welcome dinner on the 22nd (Friday)?")

  • Toggle the question OFF — it will switch from blue to gray and be labeled "Not shown to guests"

📌 Note: Turning off a question hides it from guests going forward, but it won't delete any responses guests have already submitted for it.

💬 Optional: Add a custom closure message

You can show a note like:

“Our RSVP deadline has passed. Please contact us directly for any changes.”

This can be added in the RSVP page’s Custom Text section.

🗓️ Understanding RSVP Deadlines on TTO

The RSVP deadline is a visual cutoff for your guests and helps guide them through the process.

What it does

  • 📅 Shows the deadline on the RSVP page

  • ⏳ Lets guests know when the RSVP window closes

  • 🔐 Works together with the RSVP lock setting to stop edits

⚠️ Important: Setting a deadline alone does not close the RSVP. You must also enable the RSVP lock.

⛔ Stop Accepting Responses Automatically You can control when your RSVP form stops accepting responses using automatic conditions. The form will close when either of the following is met:

  • Deadline date is reached

  • Maximum number of participants is reached (this includes plus-ones)

You can enable one or both options depending on your event needs. This is especially useful for managing venue capacity and ensuring you don't exceed your guest limit.

👀 What Guests See When RSVP Is Closed

From the very first day guests open your RSVP, they'll see the deadline date displayed on the page — so they know upfront when responses are due.

Once the RSVP closes — whether the deadline was reached or the participant cap was hit — guests visiting the link will see a "Closed" status on the RSVP page, and the Continue button is disabled. They won't be able to submit or move forward with a response.

📌 Note: This closed state applies the same way regardless of which condition triggered it — deadline or participant limit.

🔄 How Guests Can Edit Their RSVP (Before It’s Closed)

If your RSVP is open, guests can:

  • ✔️ Change attendance

  • 🍽️ Update meal selections

  • 📝 Add notes or dietary requirements

  • ➕ Modify plus-one information

They simply return to your RSVP link and select Edit RSVP.

If everything looks correct and the RSVP is still editable, contact support and we’ll happily check the setup for you.
