Adding RSVP Questions: Get the Sections Right

When creating your RSVP, where you add a question matters just as much as the question itself.

RSVP questions are split into sections like Attendance, Food, and Additional Details. Each section controls a different part of the RSVP journey, and placing a question in the wrong section can change how the RSVP behaves.

Key Things to Remember

  • Attendance is the foundation
Use this section only for questions that decide who is coming, including plus ones and households.

  • Food comes after attendance
Meal choices and dietary requirements should always live in the Food section and will only appear once attendance is confirmed.

  • Extras belong elsewhere
Notes, song requests, travel info, and other optional questions should be added to Additional Details.

  • Section placement affects the RSVP flow
Adding questions to the wrong section can cause them to appear at the wrong time or not behave as expected.

Best Practice

Always preview your RSVP before sharing it. Walking through the flow once ensures every question appears in the right place and prevents issues later on.

Getting the sections right ensures a smooth, intuitive RSVP experience for everyone.
