💳 Why Was I Charged Multiple Times? Duplicate Subscriptions Explained

Noticed multiple charges for the same fee around the same time? Here's a common cause, and how to check for it.

🔍 Why This Happens

  • Multiple charges hitting your account at the same time is often a sign of more than one active subscription tied to your name — even if you only remember signing up once

  • This can happen if you've created an account using a different email address than the one you normally use, without realizing it

🍎 Sign In With Apple

  • One common source of confusion: if you've ever used "Sign in with Apple" when creating an account, Apple can generate a private relay email address instead of using your real email address

  • This private relay email still forwards to your real inbox, but it creates a separate account in our system tied to that relay address — distinct from any account created with your actual email

  • If you don't recognize this happening, you may end up with two active subscriptions without realizing it, both charging you independently

✅ What To Do

  • Check if you've ever used "Sign in with Apple" on any device when signing up for TTO — this is the most common cause of a hidden duplicate account

  • Share every email address you may have used to sign up (including ones you don't use often) with our support team, so we can check for other accounts tied to your name

  • Once we identify all accounts/subscriptions under your name, we can help you cancel the duplicate(s) and process a refund for any duplicate charges

💡 Tip: If you're ever unsure which email or sign-in method you used originally, checking your bank or card statement for the merchant charge date/time can help us cross-reference which account it's tied to.
