💳 Charged But No Booking Confirmation? Here's Why

Seeing a charge on your account but no confirmation email for your accommodation booking? Here's what's likely going on.

🔍 Why This Happens

  • When you make a booking, a confirmation email is sent to the email address you used at checkout - this only happens once the payment has been successfully completed

  • Sometimes, a payment is initially authorized by your bank, but then gets canceled or reversed shortly after - this can happen for a variety of reasons on the payment processing side

  • If this happens, the booking itself is not completed, which is exactly why no confirmation email is sent

📌 Note: Even though the payment didn't go through, you may still see the amount temporarily showing as pending or charged on your bank statement. This is normal — the authorization hold will be released and the funds should return to your account automatically. Depending on your bank, this can take a few days to fully reflect.

✅ What To Do

  • First, check the inbox (including spam/junk) for the email address used at booking - confirmations are sent there

  • If no confirmation has come through, this likely means the payment was authorized but then reversed, and the booking was not completed

  • Keep an eye on your bank statement over the next few days - the pending/charged amount should disappear on its own as funds are returned

  • If the charge doesn't clear after a few days, or you'd still like to complete the booking, reach out to support with the email used at checkout so we can look into the specific transaction

💡 Tip: If you still want to book the accommodation, you may need to attempt the booking again, since a canceled payment means the original booking never went through.
