👁️ Controlling How Much Description Shows on Your Timeline

Some timeline items have short notes, others have long, detailed instructions. The Description Detail setting lets you choose how much of that text shows on the timeline at a glance - without ever losing the full content.

🔘 How to Change It

Click the description detail button (shows your current setting — e.g. Large) next to "+ Add timeline item" at the top of your Timeline, then choose:

  1. Hidden — No descriptions on the list. Only the title, time, location, and tags show for each item. Best when you just want a clean, quick overview of your day — scanning for times and gaps without getting pulled into the details of every item. Great for a fast top-to-bottom read of the whole schedule.

  1. Compact — The first few lines of each one. You get a preview of the description right under the item, enough to jog your memory or catch a key instruction, without the card taking up much space. This is a good everyday default — enough context to work with, but still lets you fit a lot of items on screen at once.

  2. Large — The whole description, scrolling if it runs long. Nothing is cut off — if an item has detailed setup instructions, a checklist, or an embedded image or table, it's all visible right there on the card. Best when the details in your descriptions matter at a glance, like when you're deep in planning mode and need the full picture for each moment, not just a preview.

💡 Tip: This is a display setting only — it changes what you see, not what's saved. Switching between Hidden, Compact, and Large never edits or removes any content from an item's description.

📌 Note: This setting applies to how items appear on your Timeline page. It doesn't affect what's included when you export your timeline as a PDF.

✂️ Long Descriptions No Longer Take Over the Screen

Previously, a long description (like a full welcome speech or detailed run-of-show notes) could stretch its item card the full length of the page, pushing everything else out of view. Now, long descriptions are automatically truncated with a Read all / Show more control, so you can expand just the item you need without losing your place on the rest of the Timeline.
